This is a TED talk given in Tokyo, June 2010, by Clay Shirky. In it, he addresses the concept of "cognitive surplus" - what people do with their spare brain power.
The principles and ideas mentioned in this video have significant implications for world missions in the 21st century. He mentions the Ushahidi platform for information collection, visualization and interactive mapping. Ushahidi is built on some of the same principles and "crowd-sourcing" concepts that are an integral part of the design of the Door43 project.
