I saw a Papua New Guinean friend of mine recently and got to talking with him about the recent explosion of mobile phones in Papua New Guinea. I had read an article in Forbes awhile back about how mobile phones had gone from "nowhere" to "everywhere" in just a few months, and, my friend told me, the stories are all true. "Mobile phones are everywhere," he said.
Within the last few years, the growth of the Internet and the increase in the number of mobile phones in use worldwide has significantly changed many aspects of life for billions of people all over the world.

A recent survey indicates that in at least four Asian countries – China, India, South Korea and Thailand – mobile devices are the preferred tools for accessing and using social network sites. More than 50 per cent of respondents in these countries reported accessing social network sites using a mobile phone weekly.
In an effort to better communicate the ongoing developments in our vision and the ministry of Distant Shores Media, we are starting a blog. We hope to use it as a tool for communicating with others about what we are doing and providing a way for people to dialog with us.
