Prayer Update - 16 August 2011

Lots of exciting developments and some prayer needs to share with you:

  • DSM is accredited with the ECFA! - The Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability is one of the best-known accrediting organizations and we are glad to report that Distant Shores Media was recently accepted as a member. This means that we are committing to be open and transparent in how we use and acquire financial resources. Find out more about our accountability.
  • Growing the team - We have an urgent need for more people to help build Distant Shores Media and the Door43 project. We have been in contact with some individuals who have expressed interest in joining us and helping build this ministry. Please pray that God would grant us wisdom in how to proceed, and that He would raise up the financial supporters to make it possible.
  • Open Bible Stories - We are excited to see the progress being made in the Open Bible Stories project. More people are joining Door43 and helping draft and revise the stories. Translation recently started on the first story in Indonesian! Please pray for more people to get involved and help us translate the story into other languages. This is one of the illustrations from the story God's Covenant with Abraham:

  • Conference in Singapore - Did you know that approximately 80% of people who decide to follow Jesus do so between the ages of 4 and 14? Finding effective ways to intentionally target this demographic is the reason for the 4/14 Conference coming up in Singapore this September. In the last prayer update, you read that DSM would be represented at the conference but we have since been asked to make a presentation at the conference. Please pray for wisdom in the preparation for the conference.

Thank you for praying with us!
